Tom Lindblade

Chair of the Department of Drama and Dance at the Colorado College since 1995, Dr. Lindblade is a distinguished professor as well as being a noted director of professional theatre. As a composer, musical director and actor he has over 60 theatre and dance productions to his credit in the San Francisco Bay area, and has been awarded three Dramalogue Awards. His directing credits at the Theatreworks Company of Palo Alto, California include You Can’t Take It With You, Present Laughter, The Man Who Came to Dinner, La Bête,Prelude to a Kiss. Other productions include The Birthday Party at the Guthrie Theater; at the Stanford Theatre– the American premiere of The Melody That Got Lost; Anatol; Comings and Goings; Guare OneActs; Mavra; The Necklace; The Human Voice, and he has also directed seven full productions at the Colorado College. Professor Lindblade has authored twenty articles in numerous theatre and theatre education publications and his numerous awards include Schlosser Professor of the Arts and a Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award. Before coming to Colorado College he taught as ACM in Chicago, Stanford University, where he earned his PhD, and the University of Minnesota.
