Plot: Employees at a small company discover not only that their missing boss has absconded with company funds, but that she's planned a clever scuttling of the firm, and damage to an old mind shaft that will cause environmental damage in the town.
Issues: Corporate greed, historical mining processes, environmental compliance.
Special Elements: Students did research on consumer safety and on the potential dangers of investigative journalism for their script. In a unique artistic contribution, two students collaborated on original poems set to original guitar music to highlight the emotional themes of their script. Music students collaborated with us by writing a theme for our show. At our request, the theme was orchestrated in different vesions for each of our three episodes: jazz, country-western, and neo-classical.
